Inez Milholland road marker unveiling & Adirondack exhibit opening May and running through October

A road marker to direct travelers and interested individuals to the grave site of Inez Milholland will be unveiled on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at noon. Meet at the town hall in Lewis, NY. A walk to the Milholland grave site will follow.

The road marker was funded by the Pomeroy Foundation (NYS) and it will be located near the corner of Route 9 and Fox Run Road in Lewis, NY.

“Adirondack Suffragists: 100 Years of Votes for Women” is an exhibit opening May 27 and running through October 9, 2017 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of New York State passing a women’s suffrage act into state law. New York women, including Inez Milholland from Essex County (upstate NY), played important roles in the movement. The Adirondack History Center Museum and the Essex County Historical Society in Elizabethtown, NY has scheduled the suffrage exhibit for the Anitra Pell Gallery.
