To emphasize her importance in American history, the National Women’s History Project named Inez as one of its Honorees in 2016, an honor that brought her considerable national attention. The following year, in 2017, Inez was inducted into the New York State Senate’s Historical Women of Distinction 2017 exhibit, an honor was officially transmitted to the National Women’s hall of Fame. Participants carried signs honoring Inez during the January 2017 and 2018 womens’ marches in Washington, DC and across the nation. Citizens made a pilgrimage to Inez’s grave in Lewis, NY in 2017 and 2018. During Women’s History Month in 2017, banners honoring Inez were posted above the streets of West Hollywood, CA. In 2018, Molly Murphy MacGregor nominated Inez to be inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame, recognition that is long overdue.
