Were there other US suffrage martyrs?

Step forward to volunteer and help dig into history to find examples of US women who gave their lives for our right to vote. We know they are out there, but the circumstances didn’t necessarily identify them so clearly as in the case of Inez Milholland. Contact Marguerite Kearns at this web site to help. See contact information.

Inez Milholland, our US suffrage martyr, isn’t being forgotten during 2020. She is found in the news media. A mountain is now named after her (Mt. Inez) in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. Artists love Inez. The image of her riding a horse to lead the 1913 women’s suffrage parade is found among the illustrations of numerous books and magazine articles.
